Take your FCBD® Style training to the next level with our structured Certification Programs. Designed for dancers and instructors alike, these programs provide expert guidance, technical mastery, and the opportunity to join a global community committed to preserving and sharing FCBD® Style.
Approved FCBD®U certification pathways:
General Skills for FCBD® Style
Prerequisite: 2+ Years of Dance Experience
Master every movement in the core FCBD® Style vocabulary as taught by Carolena and Advanced FCBD® Style instructors. Gain detailed technique instruction, a training manual, homework, and quizzes to enhance your learning.
20-hour training includes movement instruction, lectures on the history and cultural context of FCBD®Style, a detailed training manual, homework and quizzes to enhance your learning. Completion of entire program required for certification.
30-hour live-stream limited to 20 participants. This extended format includes movement instruction, lectures on the history and cultural context of FCBD®Style, a detailed training manual, homework and quizzes to enhance your learning and a final exam. Completion of entire program and passing grade on the final exam required for certification.
Teacher Training for FCBD® Style
Prerequisite: General Skills Program Certificate
Learn Carolena’s recommended format for teaching FCBD® Style. Practice teaching movements to your peers, receive feedback, and prepare for the Technique for Teachers and Advanced Teacher Training programs.
10-hour intensive that includes an introductory lecture by Carolena, instruction on how to present the concept of FCBD®Style, verbal instruction, physical cuing, assessing students needs, answering common questions, structuring a class, and troubleshooting. Students will be required to teach a step in our movement vocabulary and will receive feedback from peers and the instructor team. Completion of entire program required for certification.

Technique for Teachers
Prerequisite: 2+ Years of Teaching Experience After Teacher Training Program Certificate
Refine your technique and ensure consistent, high-quality instruction. This course includes detailed breakdowns of core moves, chorus drills, advanced formations, and personalized feedback from instructors. Each day will consist of a detailed breakdown of two core moves from the FCBD®Style vocabulary followed by chorus drills. Each participant will have an opportunity to lead a two-song drill and receive feedback on their movement technique.

- Pivot Bump Family • Circle Step and Torso Twist • Cafe Style Format
Advanced Teacher Training
Prerequisite: 3+ Years of Teaching Experience After General Skills and Teacher Training Program Certificates
Advanced Teacher Training is designed to refine your teaching, expand your skills, and give you personalized guidance from Carolena Nericcio and the FatChanceBellyDance® team. This program is exclusively available to dancers who hold Certified Studio Status.
Throughout Advanced Teacher Training, you will develop a wide range of higher-level skills, including effective classroom management, strategies for teaching mixed-level groups, curriculum development for classes and workshops, delivering clear and accurate corrections, and an introduction to trauma-informed teaching principles. You will also gain experience in co-teaching and explore additional advanced pedagogical techniques that support progressive, confident, and authoritative FCBD® Style instruction.
This course does not include a pass/fail evaluation. Instead, you will receive daily individualized feedback and be expected to apply it throughout the training. By the end of the program, successful integration of this feedback will determine your eligibility for graduation.
